GAUTREAU, MARIO
It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Mario “Tony” Gautreau of Saint John, who passed away at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday August 6, 2015 after a long battle with Juvenile Diabetes, at the age of 43. Born in Saint John on August 25, 1971, the son of Antonio and Dora (LeBreton) Gautreau.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Lisa (Ian) Gautreau-Burgess; nephews Drew (Amanda Greene) Burgess, Stephanie Gautreau and Robert Burgess; great nephew Tyson Gautreau; godparents Gina (Alcide) and Lionel (Janet) LeBreton.
Mario worked for the AQ and the Reversing Falls restaurant with the kitchen staff. Mario had a love for cars, tigers, Harley Davidson and hanging with the “Boys” during his healthier years. His deepest love was for his closest friends and family, especially his niece, nephews and great nephew.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of the Saint John Regional Hospital, Palliative Care and the amazing dialysis team, considered family to Mario.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m and Monday, August 10, 2015 from 11 to 1 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 541 Milford Road, on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date.
