It is with great sadness we the family announce the passing of a dear wife, mother and grandmother Annie 'Eileen' MacMullen on Aug. 7, 2015 at the Glace Bay Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Eileen was the daughter of the late Harry and Georgina (Murrant) Holden, Port Caledonia.
Eileen worked at Eatons, the laundry department and later the housekeeping department at the Glace Bay General Hospital until her retirement in 1992.
Eileen is survived by her husband Alfred MacMullen; daughter Harriett Moss; son-in-law Kevin Moss and grandchildren, Breagh and Kyle Moss; sisters-in-law, Joyce Holden, Katherine Ryan and Bernadette MacMullen, brother-in-law Donald MacMullen and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother George Holden, sisters and brothers-in-law, James and Martha MacMullen, Philip and Margaret MacDonald, Thomas and Minnie MacMullen, Gordon MacMullen, Gerald Ryan and Effie MacMullen.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015 at 3 p.m. in St. Luke’s Anglican Church Port Caledonia, with burial to follow in parish cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Luke’s Anglican Cemetery Fund, the Cape Breton Cancer Center, Hospice Palliative Care or the Cape Breton Branch of the SPCA.
