DONOVAN, MARY JEAN "THELMA"
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Jean “Thelma” Donovan, loving wife of Michael Donovan announce her passing which occurred peacefully on August 10th, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on September 26th, 1936 to the late John Gilbert and Lumina (Dumeresq) LaRocque, in South Nelson, New Brunswick.
Thelma was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She enjoyed her many bingo nights, playing cards with her husband, and visiting her large and extended family. She was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life was her family, and she was proud of the strong close-knit family she and Michael created over the course of their 59 wonderful years together.
Thelma is survived by her husband of 59 years, Michael Donovan and large and loving family including children Michael Jr. (Lori) Donovan, Paul (Karen) Donovan, Susan (Michael) Sargent, Brian (Angela) Donovan, Carl (Susan) Donovan, Timothy (Paula) Donovan, Robert (Karen) Donovan and Lynn (Mike) Pierce; 17 grandchildren, Jennie, Alexa, Amy, Lauren, Katie, Andrew, Matthew, Caleb, Allan, Holly, Joshua, Noah, Kobe, Karley, Carson, Jillian and Jacob; as well as her sisters Mary, Anita, Cecile, Claudette, Margaret and brother Charles; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Leola, and Theresa and brother John.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, (849-2119) with visitation being held on Friday, August 14th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 15th at 9AM, from our Lady of Perceptual Help Church, 31 Gondola Point Road, Rothesay. Interment to take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation or the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Building Fund.
