1935 - 2015
Lucie Melanson (LeBlanc) passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 80, on Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. She had been a resident at both Shediac and Moncton Villa Residences. Born in St-Antoine, she was the daughter of the late Irenée and Régina (Breau) LeBlanc.
She will be missed by her surviving brother Gerald LeBlanc (Léona) and sisters Jeannine Leblanc (Ulysse), Alice Leger (Vital) and Irène Nowlan (Jim) all of Moncton, Edmée Arsenault (Désirée) of St-Antoine, Emelda Jean (Jacques) and Florence Paradise (Adélin) of Montreal. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Predeceased by three sisters Edith Leger, Juliette Leger, Lina Robichaud and two brothers Eric, and Yvon LeBlanc.
Lucie spent most of her life in Massachusetts employed with Waltham Hospital, returning home four years ago to be with family. She was a fun loving person. She was always ready for an outing and loved to travel. She was also a very special Aunt to the nieces and nephews close to her. Once diagnosed with Alzheimer's, our dear Lucie was taken so quickly from us.
Special thank you to the staff of Villa Providence (Moncton and Shediac) and Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont hospital for their excellent care provided towards Lucie.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 pm until time of funeral. Interment in Saint-Antoine cemetery.
