Eileen Ruth Rasmussen of Elgin, wife of Ralph D. Rasmussen, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Moncton Hospital. Born at Salisbury, New Brunswick, she was a daughter of the late Cecil R. W. and Jessie (Taylor) Steeves. Eileen was formerly employed as a sales person with Lounsbury Company. She was a member of the Salisbury United Pastoral Charge, where she was President of the Colpitts United Church Women. In her spare time, Eileen enjoyed sewing, knitting, and taking walks with her beloved dog, Cooper.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ralph; a brother, Donald Steeves of Forest Hill; one brother-in-law; several sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by sisters Jean Payson and Doreen Price.
In keeping with Eileen’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. For those who wish, remembrances to the Oncology Unit at the Moncton Hospital or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
