Picray: Louise Picray, age 96, of Ponteix, Sk. passed away on August 8, 2015 at the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix. The Funeral Mass was held at Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11:00 am with Father Guy Amedee Ainemon officiating. Interment was at the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery in Ponteix. She is survived by her children; George Picray of Regina, Sk Armande Thomas-Day (Jim) of Long Beach, California; Claude Picray (Shirley) of Ponteix, Sk and Paul Picray (Irene) of Porcupine Plain, Sk and four grandchildren John and Jason Picray; Michael and Conrad Desautels and five great grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1999 and three sisters. Louise was born April 13, 1919 in Lannion Servelt Côtes d'Armor, France. At an early age her family moved to Pambrum and she attended school at Notre Dame Convent, Swift Current Convent and Whiska Creek School. She married Albert Picray in 1940 and they lived on the paternal family farm until 1954, when they moved to town to have easier access to educational facilities for their growing family. Louise and Albert enjoyed their retirement by tending to their beautiful landscaped yard. She was an avid card player and for many years had a weekly canasta group of ladies. After Albert passed away she moved to the Co-op Housing where she resided for five years. When her health began to fail she moved to the Foyer St Joseph, where she has resided since 2005. In her memory, memorial donations can be made to the Foyer St. Joseph Nursing Home in Ponteix. Lemieux Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.
