Violet Dyck

DYCK: Violet May was born in Waba, ON on a Halloween evening in 1917. She was the youngest of three girls, Edith Melissa and Carmel Mahala. Her parents were Archie and Jessie (Barrie) Yuill. They both lived to be 90 years of age and were of Scottish and Irish decent. She was always her "Daddy's Girl" and has many happy memories of winter house parties, bundling up in a horse drawn sleigh with cousins, aunties and uncles, and driving many miles to their friends homes where there was music a fiddle, piano, and mouth organ to name few, and she always had a square dance with her dad, and remembered with joy in her eyes the happiness in her heart right to the end. She did lovely embroidery work in pillow cases, table cloths, dresses, and scarves and also used to make pretty flowers out of crepe paper way back when! She was always from a wee girl, taking great care of her hair, combing, brushing, and curling. She smoked Black Cat cigarettes for a while (I thought that was pretty cool!) Mother was a great cook, immaculate house keeper and could she ever bake - lemon pies, buns, and tea biscuits to name a few. She leaves loving memories to two children, six grand children, five great grand children and two great great grandchildren. The Grave Side Service was held on August 6, 2015 from Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Ken Epp officiating. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
