It is with great sadness the family wish to announce the passing of our mother, sister, grandmother and grand grandmother, Mary Florence Bois, 92, on Aug. 18, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Born in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie (MacLellan) Doyle.
Florence was a devoted catholic. She always loved when her family came to visit her and was a great homemaker. Florence had taught her children well and made sure they understood to be respectful, mannerly and courteous towards others. She loved to sing and her favourite colour was blue.
Florence is survived by her two daughters, Patricia, Dartmouth, Sharon Laffin, Lower Sackville; sons, Gerald (Tena), New Waterford, Brian (Claudette), Sydney, Robert (Mabel), Surrey, B.C., Michael and Joe, both of Ontario. She is also survived by sisters, Theresa MacKenzie, South West Margaree, Anne (Toody) (Wm. Mulock), Ottawa, Annie (Ken Boudreau), Oromocto, N.B. and brother John Coady, Vancouver, as well as 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ivan, eldest son James 'Jim' who passed away in April of this year, as well as brothers, John, Joseph, James, Kyte, Henry and sisters, Mary and Catherine Margaret in-infancy.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Halifax Infirmary, Floor 8.1, as well as Dr. Gordon Gubitz and Dr. Rochelle Blackman for the excellent care given to our mother. We would also like to thank Jean and Leigh for their compassionate care in their role as caregiver and companion for “Ma”.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. at Mclellan Brothers Funeral Home. A funeral mass to celebrate Florence’s life will take place on Monday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard, Mt. Carmel Avenue with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Garden, Sydney, followed by a luncheon at the Parish Hall, Convent Street. All are welcome.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500.
