Lillian Ann Elliott

Elliott, Lillian Ann, born April 3, 1935 in New Glasgow, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 20, 2015, in Truro. Lillian was the daughter of the late JW and Marion (Sutherland) MacLean. She graduated from New Glasgow High School, Nova Scotia Teachers College and Acadia University. She was a member of the First United Church Unit A and the Local Scottish Society; executive of the Arthritis Society, member of the Happy Harmonies choral group, the Truro Concert Band and a local Scrabble Group. She enjoyed writing poetry and performing at church functions with her Happy Harmonies group. She passed her joy of reading to all her children. A great cook and party host, she was affectionately known as "Diamond Lil." Lillian was the loving mother of Heather Elliott, Pembroke, ON, Bill Elliott, Truro, Sharon (Gordon) Elliott, Hilden, David Elliott, Toronto, ON and Sara (Terry) Doyle, Acton, ON. She was the grandmother of Renee Maiai, Bradley (Michelle) Murray, Paul (Megan) Dunn, and Olivia Doyle and great grandmother to AJ, Cole, Ryan, Milayna and Hayden. She is also survived by her sister Margaret MacDonald, New Glasgow as well as nieces and nephews. Lillian was married 54 years to her beloved husband and soulmate, the late Harold Bradford Elliott. No visitation by her request. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, August 24th, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First United Church, 711 Prince St., Truro with Rev. Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Private family interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Arthritis Society.
