Passed peacefully away on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the presence of his family John G. Evans, age 72 years after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Ethel and Clarence Evans. Left with fond and loving memories his loving wife of 47 years Margot (nee Peters), sons Bruce (Wanda), Howard (Debbie) and daughter Nancy-Beth Foran (James). A very proud grandfather of seven grandchildren, Abigail Evans, Moira, Parker, Bridget and Piper Evans, and Allison and Stephanie Foran. He also leaves two brothers-in-law Douglas Peters (Marilyn) and Geoffrey Peters (Deanne) and their families and cousin Vera Ryan (Aiden). John was a longtime valued employee with Newfoundland Power and Fortis Inc. and a Past President of the Professional Engineers of Canada. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, August 23 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be Monday, August 24th at 11am at Gower Street United Church.
