McLEAN, GERALD "GERRY" OLIVER
The death of Gerald McLean of Darlings Island, beloved husband of Mary (Grant) McLean occurred on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his home. Born on December 7, 1925 in Loggieville, NB he was the son of the late David and Jessie (Silliker) McLean.
Gerry will always be remembered as a kind, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His warm and easy going nature along with his wonderful sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him. Gerry took great comfort in the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved four wheeling and puttering around in his shed or around the yard.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Mary, Gerry is also survived by his daughters, Linda (Phil) of Darlings Island, Judy (Tony Prescott) of Hampton and Peggy of Darlings Island; sons, David (Christine) of Greenland, NH and Keith (June) of Eureka, NS; brother, Edward of Hamilton, ON; sister, Irene MacKenzie (Howard) of Saint John; grandchildren, Kerri (Ron), Paul (Christa), Tim (Elaine), Mark (Tina), John (Elisha), Adam (Joanna), Katrina and Lee; great-grandchildren, Shianne, Jarod, Tori, Jacey, Joseph, Rhylee (her mother, Jennifer), Dylan, Hailey, Cameron, Nathan and Aiden; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Gerry was also predeceased by his infant son, Robert James; brothers, Robert, Leland and David; as well as sister, Doris.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Honourary pallbearers for the service will be David, Keith, Paul, Tim, Mark, John and Adam.
