It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Neil Edward MacPherson, 71, of Scotchtown, at home on Aug. 23, 2015.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of the late Frank and Annie (MacIntyre) MacPherson.
Neil was a King Lion and lifetime member of the New Waterford Lions Club. He enjoyed playing darts and cards, as well as fishing and hunting in Mira. In earlier years, Neil worked in the coal mines. He was also employed with MacIntyre Chev-Olds and Tri-C Furniture in Sydney.
Surviving are his wife, Diane (Hurley); sons, Neil MacPherson (Tammy), Kenneth MacPherson (Shelley), both of New Waterford; brothers, Russell (Dorothy) MacPherson, Guysborough, Frank (Jackie) MacPherson, Scotchtown; grandchildren, Ashley, Kenneth, Jordon, Mitchell, Kelly, Patrick, Kendall, Trent and Nick; great-grandchildren, Aliyah and Novah.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m., all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith St., New Waterford, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating.
