FEVENS, Edgar Hubert – age 76, Summerville, Yarmouth Co., passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Sunday, August 23, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Born August 7, 1939 in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Leslie M. and Helen F. (Nickerson) Fevens. Edgar was an accomplished musician and an entrepreneur. For more than 15 years, Edgar was a member of The Ferraris of Canada, a band based out of Boston, with whom he played guitar, harmonica and trumpet, having performed throughout the United States. Edgar had an entrepreneurial spirit. Following his return to Canada in the 1970s, he was owner/operator of several local businesses including convenience stores, restaurants and more recently, popcorn, cotton candy and mini donuts kiosks at the Yarmouth Mall. Other than performing and listening to music, Edgar volunteered as the bartender at Th’YARC, enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and a talented painter. And he loved his dogs Mac and Mayan. Edgar will be remembered as a kind, gentle and quick-witted man with a wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sandy (Letteney) Fevens, as well as by his children, Heather (Ernest) Fall, Prince Edward Island; Dwayne (Theresa) Fevens, London, Ont.; Dawn (Roland) Nickerson, South Ohio; Rhonda (Glen) Flemming, Tusket; Michael Denning and Baaye-Tanne Fevens, both of Massachusetts; step-sons, Bryon Fevens, Ottawa; Jeffery (Jennifer) Fevens, Fredericton, NB, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Loran Fevens, Yarmouth; Robert (Jennifer) Fevens, Brockville, Ont. and Greg (Raelene) Fevens, Yarmouth, as well as by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leslie and Helen, he was predeceased by his first wife, Carol (Raynard) Fevens, as well as by brothers, Leslie Fevens and Dr. Stanley Fevens. Visitation took place from 7-9 Sunday evening at H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth. The memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 31st from Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Yarmouth, Rev. Wayne Fevens officiated. Interment followed in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. The family would like to express deepest gratitude to the nurses on 3 South and 4 North for the wonderful care they provided during Edgar’s lengthy time in hospital.
