The death occurred at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on Saturday, August 29, 2015, of Leonard McKenna, husband of Marie (nee Parks), of St. Anne's and formerly of Tracadie Cross, aged 81.
Leonard was the father of Heather (Errol Creery), Karen (Mike), Blaine (Dawn Gallant), Shane (Linda) and Cathy; stepfather of Marjorie Swain (Matt), Jennifer Adamson (Bill) and Anthony Lorbach (Harumi); grandfather of Jade, Amanda, Melissa, Jason, Sandra, Crystal, Ashley, Blaine John, Shayne, Robin, Jesse, Ryan, Hunter, Nicholas, Mitchell and Jordan. He is also survived by his children's mother, Betty McKenna; his sister, Olga Armstrong; brother, Joe (Judy); several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Leonard was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Whitlock (Sandy); his parents, Peter and Nora (May) McKenna; and his brothers, Reverend Reginald McKenna and Allison McKenna; and his father and mother-in-law, William and Mary (Cote) Parks.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, from 6 to 9 p.m., and prior to the funeral on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., at St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Tracadie Cross, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
