It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt, Bernadette 'Beth' Gouthro on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney on June 14, 1947, Beth was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Parsons. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney.
She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Donnie) Osmond, Florence; her sons, Lloyd (Amanda), Joe (Kerry), both of Fort McMurray; by her precious grandchildren, Courtney, Kayla, Donald, Tyler and Nickolas. Also surviving is her sister, Mary Bradbury, Ontario; her sisters-in-law, Lonie (Kevin Hennessey), North Sydney, Theresa (Tommy) Gillis, Ontario, Sr. Marcella Gouthro, Halifax, Jen Parsons, Halifax, Evelyn Gouthro, Sydney Mines; brother-in-law, Mickey McCormick and by many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Michael Gouthro in April of this year; her brothers, Richard 'Wish' Parsons, Joseph 'Pook' Parsons, Lloyd Parsons; her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Emma Gouthro; sisters-in-law, Hilda McCormick, Jennie Silver; brothers-in-law, Roy Bradbury and Frank Gouthro.
There will be no visitation by request. A funeral mass for Beth will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Patrick O’Neill officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
