With deep sadness we announce the passing of Melvin Peter Young on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Halifax Infirmary. He will be greatly missed by Barbara, his loving wife of 38 years, Marina, his daughter and pride and joy, and Molly, his faithful canine companion, along with numerous family and friends. He lived for many years in Edmonton, AB and Burnaby, BC before retiring with Barbara to Amherst, NS in 2011. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, being an avid fisherman for many years, and recently just sitting outside in the sunshine with a good book and Molly beside him. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 7 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. (902-667-9906) Memorial donations in Mel’s memory may be made to the L.A. Animal Shelter or your local animal shelter.
