Well Known New Glasgow Businessman Passes Away

Peter Manos
New Glasgow - Peter Nicholas Manos, age 85, of New Glasgow, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Katina (Gerulakos) Manos.
He was co-owner of the London Fruit Candy Store for many years and known as the Ambassador of Provost Street.
He was an active member of the City Club and a past member of the Abercrombie Country Club and Bluenose Curling Club.
He enjoyed spending time at the cottage and the beach at Kings Head for many years.
He is survived by sisters: Helyn, Angelina, Mary, all of New Glasgow; brothers: George (Shirley), New Glasgow; James Dimitri “Jimmy”, Halifax; many favorite nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews; as well as many former customers who were very special to Peter.
He was predeceased by an older brother, Samuel.
Visitation 6-9 pm Thursday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
A private graveside service will be held in the Lorne Street Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
