JEFFREY, BARBARA MARY (GODFREY)
1935 - 2015
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we announce her peaceful passing at York Care Center, surrounded by loved ones, on September 2. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edith (Trecartin) and William Godfrey.
She was predeceased by her son Mark James (Willa Stevenson).
Barb is survived by her husband of 57 years James (Jim) Jeffrey. She is also survived by her daughter Jill (Mike Arthur) Bedford, NS, son Andrew (Monique Richard) and daughter Jane (Brian McKeown) of Fredericton. She is also survived by sister Lynn Redding (Bruce), St. Catherine's, ON. Nonee was so very proud of all her grandchildren, Andrew and Caroline Healy, Shane Arthur, Mark and Samuel Jeffrey, Megan and Sarah McKeown. Also nieces Debbie, Lori, and Janet (Redding).
Barb was an incredibly kind and gracious woman. Family was everything to her. As a dedicated mom to her four kids, Barb was involved with CGIT, Girl guides and a driving force with Bedford Minor Hockey during '74-78, while Jim served as President. Barb was known for her Sunday dinners, sense of humour, and Whoopie Pies. Barb loved her sunsets at Grand Lake-and the only sunset that mattered happened there.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 7th, 1:00 pm at St. Paul's United Church, 224 York St., Fredericton. No visitation.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff of York Care Center for taking good care of "Barbie".
