Anita LeBlanc

LeBLANC, ANITA
1920 - 2015
After a courageous and long battle with cancer, it is with sadness and serenity that we announce the death of our precious Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Anita LeBlanc (née Cormier) at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre on Thursday, September 3rd, at the age of 95, with her loving family by her side. Born July 5th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Théodore Cormier and the late Edna (Léger). She was the beloved wife of the late Albert J.H. LeBlanc (2003) for 61 years.
She will be sadly missed by her six children: Robert (Annette), Monique (Jean Cormier) and Bernice, all of Moncton; Paul (Lucille) of Dieppe, Gisèle (Roland Belliveau) and Maurice (Joanne) of Grand-Barachois (Cap-Bimet). She also leaves behind her cherished 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister, Fern (Clave Crossman) of Moncton.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Rev. Georges (February 14, 2015), and one sister, Huberte (Betty) Beason-Cormier (2006).
Anita was self-taught, hard-working, a very generous person, but mostly, determined. Her whole life was devoted to her husband and her family; she found time to listen with an open mind and ready to lend a helping hand. She chose to see the good in everyone. Her smile and gentleness touched the heart of everyone who came in contact with her. She was the cornerstone of her family. She was, and always will be, an inspiration to all.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, along with reading and had a thirst for up-to-date news. A woman of great faith, she read her mass every day. She was also a great cook and wrote in her personal diary for years.
For the past 62 years, she loved spending her summers at the cottage in Cap-Bimet, Grand-Barachois.
Visitations will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church St, Moncton (858-1900) Friday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm, Saturday from 9am till time of departure (9:45am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-de-l'Enfant-Jésus Roman Catholic Church on Saturday September 5th at 10 am. Burial will take place at Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire cemetery, Dieppe.
Donations in Anita’s memory may be made to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Palliative Care), to cancer research, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
