RIVERTON – William Howard Naugler, 88, Haven Brook Manor, Riverton, formerly of Harve Boucher and Sydney, passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by his family.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, he was a son of the late William Howard Spurgeon and Sarah Elizabeth (Flora) Naugler. Prior to retirement, William was a carpenter and member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 1588, Cape Breton. He was a member of First United Baptist Church, New Glasgow. William was former member of Port Hawkesbury United Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon and member of the Board of Directors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his daughter, Nancy, Westville; sons, John (Gail), Barrie, Ont.; David (Rita), Afton; Bruce, Smokey Lake, Alta.; grandchildren, Rebecca (Ian), Amanda (Bill), Sandra (Kevin), Lynn (Kevin), Adam, Scott (Colleen), Joel (Aimee), Jeffery (Laurie), Jeremy (Katelyn) and Billy (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Kylie, Cassidy, Nadia, Ainsley, Harlow, Etta Jade, Owen, Aidan, Seth, Luke, Connor, Gage, Raine, Keinon and Logan; daughter-in-law, Barbara, Truro; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by sisters, Alice MacMillan, Mary Lou Kennedy and Isobel Muggah.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday in First United Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Stanton officiating. Interment will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
