OLIVE, DORIS H.
It is with broken hearts the family announce the passing of our Mom, Doris Helena Olive, which occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, September 05, 2015. Born at Fredericton, NB on January 26, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Estella Cecilia (Goodine) and James Frederick Crawford.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vernon R. Olive; two infant sons; five brothers, James Wilfred Crawford (Isabel), Joseph Frederick Crawford (Geraldine), George Edward Crawford (Doris), John Gilbert (Geraldine), and Frank Herbert Crawford; one sister, Marie Elizabeth Jones; and two brothers-in-law, Harry K. Olive and Robert J. Olive (Jean).

Doris is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) of Kingston, ON, Terry (Cathy) of Fredericton, Patricia Sharpe (Brian) of Fredericton, Kimberley Rail (Ron) of Russell, ON, and Susan Moore (Jim) of Fredericton; ten grandchildren, Craig and Shawn Olive, Chris, Stephen and Jenna Olive, Jason Rail, Taryn Couturier, Travis Moore, Nicole Allison, and Keri Williams; fifteen great grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Crawford (Melba); sister-in-law Pauline Crawford; brother-in-law John Jones, a special niece, Sissy Legere, all of the Fredericton area; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Doris was a graduate of the Victoria Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She was a member of the Fredericton Curling Club, and in later years the Fredericton Lawn Bowling Club. Her many interests included alley bowling, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and researching her family history. She was extremely proud of her family and had a huge impact in their lives.

Visitation will take place at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 12 Noon from Holy Family Catholic Church, Hanwell followed by a reception, with interment to follow in the Hermitage Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
