FANCY, Mary Catherine -59, of Waterside, Pictou County, passed away after a long battle with cancer, September 7, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Eastern Passage, she was a daughter of Mable (Baltzer) Creamer, Pictou and the late Alvin Creamer. A Horticulturalist by trade, she was employed with Rollie & Judy MacDonald and previous to that, with the City of Halifax and the Town of Pictou. She was a member and past president of the Pictou Garden Club and a long-time organizer of the Pictou-North Colchester Exhibition Flower Show. She also enjoyed coaching and spent many years with U-14, U-16, U-18 Tier II Pictou County Girls Soccer. She is survived by her husband, Gregg; daughter, Catherine (Allan), Bridgetown; son, Luke, Lower Sackville; sister, Kara (Cliff) Taylor, Scotsburn, and her family, Kristian (Phil), Joey and Emma. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM Thursday from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow, with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the direction of McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.
