Jessie Alexander

Jessie Ellen Alexander, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2015. Jessie was born July 20, 1941 to David and Ruth Bathgate at Central Butte, Saskatchewan. She married Jerry on July 20, 1962. Together they settled in Moose Jaw and raised three children. Jessie loved the outdoors and anything to do with nature - birds, flowers and numerous outdoor activities. She was an active member of the YMCA. Jessie dedicated many years of her life to running a home daycare. She was very particular about ensuring all the children were included and cared for as if they were part of her own family. She is well known for her seasonal house decorations and enjoyed sharing the excitement of the season with all the children. Jessie retired in 2012 due to her diagnosis of cancer. Jessie and Jerry were Moose Jaw Warrior season ticket holders for 27 years and only relinquished their seats when Jessie was no longer able to attend. During many of those years Jessie was a proud member of the Warrior Booster Club. The family enjoyed travelling, camping and many years at the cabin on Buffalo Pound Lake. Jessie kept busy attending to her grandchildren's activities and was a Sunday school teacher when the kids were younger. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Jerry; son Jeff; daughters Kristi (Mike) and Janine (Bryce). Grandchildren Brooke, Zachary, Sydney, Mckennah and Jaden. Her brothers Phil (Gwen), Darryl (Sandra), and Richard (Dorothy) as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family. A Celebration of Jessie's Life will be held at W.J. Jones & Son Chapel on Saturday September 12, 2015 at 1:30pm. Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorial donations to the Allen Blair Cancer Center, Moose Jaw Health Foundation for Home/Palliative Care, or the Moose Jaw Humane Society would be appreciated. In loving memory of Jessie a memorial planting will be made by W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home. Please sign the memorial register at website: www.wjjonesandson.com (Obituaries).
