KEENAN, OLIVE
Olive Keenan (nee Brown) died peacefully June 27, 2015 in Regina, SK. Olive loved to drive her cars, could not pass a piano without sitting to play a tune or two, and enjoyed the lights and bells at casinos.
Born in Dalhousie, NB on February 27 1929, Mary Mildred Olive Brown was the youngest child with four brothers and two sisters. Olive married Eldon Hughes in 1951 and daughter Patricia was born in September 1952. Eldon was killed in action in Korea in 1952. In the 1960s, Olive moved to Saint John, NB, married Sandy Keenan (died September 2006) and daughters Nancy Jean Elizabeth, Catherine Olive Maureen and Lynn Marie soon arrived. As a resident of Gondola Point for many years, Olive enjoyed the Kennebacasis River and beaches although she always swam with one toe touching the bottom.
Olive enjoyed the business world and worked her way up from typist to Telecom Sales at NBTel, earning awards for top sales.
After retiring in the 1980s, Olive spent her days reading mysteries, practicing tai chi, and visiting her daughters and grandchildren in Regina and Ottawa. Olive's tenacious nature, good humor and no-nonsense attitude propelled her through tough times. Always quick to laugh and ready for fun, our dear mother is missed greatly.
