Katherine "Kat" Marie Paul

Paul, Katherine “Kat” Marie, 76, Millbrook First Nation, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 11, 2015 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro she was the daughter of the late Noel and Annie (Wilmot) Gloade and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Kat loved her cat, morning tea and toast, her ladies prayer group, playing cards and going to Bingo. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping at Sobeys and Wal-Mart. She was employed by Crossley Carpets in Truro for 39 years until her retirement. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and especially by her cat, “Hobo”. She is survived by her daughter, Christine “Tina” Paul, Millbrook First Nation; son, Manson (Bev) Gloade, Brookdale, NS; grandchildren, Brandon (Katie), and Dakota, all of Millbrook First Nation, Mark and Sarah, Brookdale; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sister, Rose “Rosie” Brooks; brother, Manson Gloade and her ex-husband, Everett Paul. Special thanks is extended to the doctors, nurses and staff for their excellent care, love and concern for her during her time in hospital. A time of visitation will be held at her home at 829 Willow St., Millbrook, N.S. beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 13, 2015 until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15th in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Millbrook First Nation, N.S. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery with a Salite’ to follow in the Millbrook Community Centre. In lieu of flowers donations in Kat’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice.
