Edward "Ted" Beglau

Edward "Ted" Beglau

BEGLAU, Edward “Ted”, age 70 of Swift Current, passed away September 3, 2015 at the Swift Current Care Home only three weeks after his diagnosis of mestatic pancreatic cancer. Ted is survived by his daughter Sharla (Steve) Jensen and children Cassidy and Quinn; nieces raised like daughters, Leeanne (Dan) Preston and children Shylan and Shelby, Colleen (Rick) Gardner and children James and Brendan and Cheryl (George) Berenyi and children Rochelle, Mary Ann and Katrina; brothers-in-law John (Shirley) Carduner and Brian (Lyn) Carduner; sister-in-law Judy (Lee) Leoppky; special foster daughter Adrianna (Thom) Voth and children Kowen, Keilana, Cadence and Mason; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by his wife Dianne (Carduner) Beglau; son Christopher Beglau; brother Gerald Beglau; parents Arthur and Pearl (Hammer) Beglau and in-laws Peter and Faith (Oliver) Carduner. Ted was born September 25, 1944 in Moose Jaw where he was raised and attended school. He married Dianne in Swift Current on October 12, 1968. Ted was employed at Saskatchewan Wheat Pool for most of his adult life and transferred with them through Esme, McMahon, Hodgeville, Leader and Webb, where he stayed until he retired. Because Ted could be gruff at times, people often got the wrong impression of him if they didn’t take the time to get to know him better. He had the biggest heart around which he showed through his adoration of his family and friends as well as his willingness to do almost anything for those he knew and loved. He was known as a taxi of sorts, offering rides for friends to work, to and from the airport, to out of town medical appointments…you name it. His heart also showed through his volunteerism. Ted was a long time member of the Lions Club, even taking on the important role of District Governor. He volunteered on the Swift Current Ag& Ex Board and dedicated countless hours to running the Saloon at the Fair for 10 years. Ted and Dianne were also foster parents for about 25 years and built many special relationships while making a difference in the lives of many children. Ted’s biggest regret in life was not travelling more as both he and Dianne discovered this love relatively late in life and were always planning their next vacation. He enjoyed a trip to Hong Kong through the Lions and many trips to Las Vegas, but his real love was his tropical vacations including trips to Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Jamaica. Ted’s service was held September 12 at the Eagles Hall with Warren’s Funeral Home handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Swift Current SPCA. Warren's Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
