It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Abner (Leonard) Hiscock, passed away on Sunday, September 13th, 2015, at the age of 84 years at the Rufus Guinchard Health Centre in Port Saunders, NL. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth (Caines), children: Vera (Heber) Hillyard, Calvin (Linda), Ida (Eric) Patey, Oscar (Betty), Edith (Eric) Peddle, and Gerald (Janet), 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, his sisters: Myrtle Rumbolt, Dorothy (Calvin) Curlew, Florence (Eugene) Reid, and many other relatives, extended family and friends. Leonard was predeceased by: daughter Stella, daughter-in-law Debbie, parents: Theodore and Mary Elizabeth Hiscock, brother Lorne (Mary) Hiscock, sisters: Edna (George) Zradricka, Frances (Stanley) Radley, Edith (Glover) Reid, Elsie (Herb) Reid, baby sister and baby brothers, as well as his special friend, fishing and hunting buddy, brother-in-law Scott Rumbolt. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Tuesday, September 15th, 2015, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, September 16th, 2015, at 2 pm, at St. Paul's United Church in Deer Lake, NL, with Rev. Myles Vardy officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot at The Deer Lake, Interdenominational Cemetery on Wight's Road, Deer Lake, NL.
