It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing after a brief illness of our husband, father and brother Edward Carl Ross on Sept. 10, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, N.S. Beloved husband of Walma (Dilney) and loving father of Stephanie.
Eddy was the youngest of 10 children. He was predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Claira (Jackson), a brother Edgar, niece Marilyn, and nephews Donald Hann and Robin Ross, brothers-in-law Allan Leighton, Cyril Hann and Fred Bond.
Eddy is survived by his sisters Iva, Edna (Harvey), Phyllis and Ruth, his brothers Ralph (Joan), Harold (Margaret), George (Joann), and Doug (Betty), many nieces and nephews, and his sisters-in-law Judy Sampson and Carol Aucoin and brothers-in-law Joe, Greg, Richard, Kevin and Tom.
Eddy was currently employed with Aiton Drug Co. He also enjoyed test-marketing products at various grocery stores in the local area. He loved meeting and socializing with people, indicative of the type of jobs he enjoyed. When time allowed he helped with the fundraising events at the Sydney Forks Recreation Centre. He was also a past member of the Kinsmen.
Eddy enjoyed his special hunting trips to Newfoundland with his nephews, who he fondly referred to as the Bond Boys: Fred Jr., Bob, Jimmy, Darryl, and Ronnie, and their friend Randy Cox.
In accordance with Eddy’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A celebration of his life will take place Saturday, Sept. 19 from 2-5 p.m. at the Sydney Forks Recreation Centre.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital for their care during his brief illness.
Memorial donations can be made to one’s charity of choice.
