Bernice Lillian Lewis, 85 of Sydney, passed away Sept. 13, 2015 in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jenny Steele. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Bernice will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit and her amazing cooking.
She is survived by her children, Elaine (Joe) O’Brien, Sydney, Perry (Dorothy), Toronto, Jody Lewis, Halifax, Leone (Mike) Fougere, Halifax, Faithe (Derrick) Orchard, Halifax, Cory, Vancouver; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Ann (John) Chiasson (MacMillan); brother, George (Lynn) Steele.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Perry; granddaughter, Mikaela Fougere; brothers, Billy, Gerald, Ron, Pat and Frankie.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where a reception will follow.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Recreation Dept. at Arborstone Enhanced Care.
