Cornella Marie (Siwak) Bialosiewcz

Cornella passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2015, while a resident of Sunset Extendicare in Regina, SK.. A former long-time resident of Prince Albert, Cornella moved to the Regina area in June, 2013.

Cornella was born on October 5, 1928, in Steep Creek, SK to Julia and Frank Siwak. In 1948, she married her wartime pen pal, Zabie Bialosiewicz and they had two daughters, Veesha and Dina.

After nine years of farming in the Cecil area, they moved into Prince Albert where Zabie became a renowned car salesman and Cornella excelled as a homemaker. Like her mother, she planted and harvested a large garden, well into her 80’s. She was known for her beautiful perennials, her amazing ostrich ferns, and her numerous colorful baskets of annuals. She especially loved growing brilliant dinner-plate size dahlias. The whole family enjoyed her raspberry jam and delicious baking. She was “Babka” to six hungry grandchildren and spoiled them with pails of home made cookies, the best perogy and beet rolls, the most tender Greek ribs, and whatever was their favorite food every time they came to visit. A perennial favorite was her banana cake. She ”lived to” and “loved to” feed everyone. Just like her mother before her, “coffee” at Cornella’s home was always a delectable ”feast”. The family will dearly miss her cooking and the large family gatherings on the patio surrounded by her beloved flowers.

She is survived by her elder daughter Veesha (Al )Wolfe and grandchildren Dean (Paris), Dallas (Andrea), Dustin (Jill), and Danny (Courtney) and great-grandchildren Camryn, Chase, Maddox, Merrick, Sarah, Julia, Scarlett, Sienna;
and her younger daughter Dina (Dan) Dennis and grandchildren Rowe and Marina.

She is also survived by her brothers Roman Siwak and Adam (Helen) Siwak, and sister-in-law Agnes Siwak.

She was also especially close to her nieces Jan Ward and Irene Grimwood, both of whom had lost their mothers earlier.

She was predeceased by her husband Zabie in 2006, her parents Frank and Jullia, her brothers Marion and Walter (Si), her sister Janet, her sisters-in-law Lucille and Dianne, and brother-in-law Stanley.
