John "Jack" McMillan

Jack McMillan
John “Jack” Archibald McMillan of Aneroid, SK passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at the age of 87 years. Jack was born on the family farm March 4, 1928, and was the only child of Willis and Libby (nee Archibald) McMillan. Jack grew up and lived in the Aneroid district his entire life. He farmed his father’s homestead and was a certified organic farmer. Farming was Jack’s greatest love, and his last words to his son were “How was the harvest?” In 2008 the McMillan family was awarded the Century Farm Family Award. Jack was also an electrician for over 50 years, and owned Mac’s Electric. When electricity came to the Aneroid area Jack was kept very busy. Jack married Kathleen Robins on May 2, 1964, and they were blessed with three children. Jack treasured the time he spent with his family. Jack’s grandchildren were very important to him, and he always had a treat in his truck for them. He loved Coke, and always had a pop on the go. Jack loved to drive and had a route from Ponteix, Vanguard, Hazenmore and Kincaid, and enjoyed following it to visit with family and friends. He was always more than willing to make a trip to town whenever Kathleen needed anything. Jack was the mayor of Aneroid, and a proud mason with the Aneroid and Kincaid branch. He was on the School Board, Vanguard Hospital Board and the Aneroid Rink Committee. If anyone ever needed help, Jack was always ready and willing to lend a hand. He was a hardworking and caring man who lived his life the way he wanted, and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Jack is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughter Glenda; son Doug (Haley); grandchildren Emily, Alex and Taylor; sisters-in-law Marlene Robins and Connie Robins. Predeceased by his daughter Sherri; parents Willis and Libby; parents-in-law Victor and Peggy Robins, sister-in-law Doreen (Vic) McMaster; brothers-in-law Gordon Robins and Barry Robins. Private family funeral service will take place.
