BROWN, MARY JOSEPHINE
It is with great sadness we say ‘good bye’ to our beloved Mary who passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Mary was born at McAdam, NB on March 31, 1915, a daughter of the late John and Helena (Donahue) McGillicuddy.
Mary was a cherished and loving mother, mother-in-law, nana, sister, aunt and friend who was always ready to share a laugh. She gave her family many things, but her signature gift of faith shown through her constant love and prayers, will be most remembered and missed. She was indeed the family matriarch.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Anne Nason, McAdam, NB and Cathy McGee (Robin), Newmarket, NB; five grandchildren, Dale Nason (Monica), Sherri Robichaud (Jamie), Carla Gillespie (Daniel), Adele Levesque (Shawn) and Erin McGee (Justin); eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Rebecca, Riley, Tyson, Cole, Dax, Jack and Jase; a sister, Edna Connors, Saint John, NB; a brother, Walter McGillicuddy, Oromocto, NB; a special sister-in-law, Teresa McGillicuddy; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Verden; a son-in-law, Roy Nason; a granddaughter, Lesley; sisters, Margaret Daneff, Alice Connors, Gladys McGillicuddy and infant sister; brothers, Lawrence, Maurice and Raymond McGillicuddy.
Visiting hours will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 415 Route 3, Newmarket, NB on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 9:30 am to 11 am. Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11 am with Father Bill Brennan officiating. Interment at Harvey Settlement Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Knox Presbyterian Church Youth Hall, 2412 Route 3, Harvey, NB.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Mary, the family has suggested a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family wish to express their gratitude to the staff and to Dr. Frances MacDougall for the care and respect shown towards Mum during her stay at Pine Grove Nursing Home.
