Sylvia Fern Collette

Collette, Sylvia Fern, age 82 of Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Vimy Court, Bible Hill.
Born on August 21, 1933, in Diligent River, N.S., She was the daughter of the late Ray and Reta (Warren) Hiltz.
Sylvia is survived by her sons Robert (Judy) of Bible Hill, Wayne (Ken) of Musquodoboit Harbour, Allan (Anne) of Herring Cove, Eugene of Halifax; grandchildren Robbie of Dartmouth, Brendan of Truro, Jordan (Kelly) of Hilden, Ravee (Darcy) of Alberta, Jana of Truro, Katrina of Truro; great grandchildren Jacob, Jaden, Jackson of Truro. Addison, Briella of Hilden, Brianna, Brooklyn of Truro; sisters Lois (the late Raymond Yorke) of Fox River, Ruby (the late Stanley Dowe) of Parrsboro.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 27 years, Rene Joseph; daughter Wendy Jean, sister Lalia (the late Danny Knopp); brother Fred (Marion).
She will be sadly missed forever by her family and friends.
Sylvia worked at Stanfields Ltd. for 25 years before her retirement. She always loved going for drives with her family, especially to see her sisters in Parrsboro. Sylvia also had a love for race horses and owned several over the years with her husband Rene. She always looked forward to going to the races to watch her husband and son Robert “Bobby” race their horses.
Everyone that knew her loved her great sense of humour and her willingness to help others.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro.
In keeping with her wishes a private family committal service will be held in Bible Hill Cemetery, Bible Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IWK Children’s Hospital, Halifax. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Sylvia’s obituary at www.ColchesterCommunity.com
