CLARK, BRIAN L.
The death of Brian Clark of St. Martins, beloved husband of 48 years to Morag (Johnston) Clark occurred on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at his home. Born on April 6, 1942 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Tressa (Green) Clark.
In addition to his wife Morag, Brian is also survived by their children, Justin Clark (Cara) of Saint John and their adored son, Aiden and Stephanie Roberts-Grant (Dan) of Calgary and their children, Reid Roberts and Jamie Grant; brother, Robert Clark (Mary White) of Quispamsis; sisters, Tressa White (Laurie) of Quispamsis and Valerie Fennell (Paul) of Saint John; three great-grandchildren; special niece, Colleen Fennell of Halifax; brother-in-law, Robert Kane of Saint John; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Judy Kane.
Brian was employed for the last 17 years as the manager of the Fundy Trail; a career he truly loved. Throughout the years, he devoted numerous hours to volunteering in his community with various groups and organizations. Brian had been an active member of the St. Martins Lions Club, St. Martins Little League Baseball, St. Martins Volunteer Fire Department, Saint John Lions Club and the Navy League of Canada. He was the current president of the NB Association of Museums and president of NB Trails. Brian was a past president of the NBPC Party of Saint John - Portland Riding, past president and treasurer of St. Martins District Chamber of Commerce and past president of Hospitality Saint John. He was also a past secretary and treasurer of the Fundy Heritage Zone, past president of the Bay of Fundy Tourism Partnership and was a past director of the Destination Marketing Organization and had served on the TransCanada Trails Committee and TIANB. In 2009, Brian received the Pioneer Award for his contribution to tourism and was also a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to tourism and trails. Brian adored spending time with his dogs and enjoyed hiking, reading, western movies, anything John Wayne, traveling and was a season ticket holder to the Saint John Sea Dogs hockey games.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM.
