RANDY JOHN RAIN
Randy passed away on Sunday September 20th, 2015 after a struggle with COPD. He was born on March 20th, 1957 in Ottawa, ON to Douglas and Beverley Rain. He was predeceased by his father, Doug; infant brother, Calvin; grandparents, Genevieve and Rudy Anderson; brother-in-law, Michael Fraser; and father and mother-in-law, Cyril and Carol Fraser. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Allison; son, Calvin; mother, Beverley; sister, Kelly-Lynn; as well as several relatives. Randy completed his education in Commercial Cooking from Saskatchewan Technical Institute in 1982. He retired from Valley View Center in Moose Jaw in 2013 after having served many years as a head cook. Randy liked the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing. He loved gardening and spending time in his yard with his family. Before his health began to bother him, Randy travelled with his wife to many dog shows and horse shows with Collie and Pomeranian dogs and the Arabian horses. Later on he preferred to stay close to home. Randy still enjoyed his pets, and TV time always included his treasured Pomeranians, Dancy and Buddy, on his lap or at his feet. A new kitten named Orda sat with him daily on the newspaper while he enjoyed morning coffee. His favorite collie, Nettie, will be laid to rest alongside him to be together forever. A Celebration of Randy’s life will be held on Monday, September 28th, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home with Dave Foley officiating. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Randy’s name may be made to the Saskatchewan Lung Association, Box 58000, Saskatoon, SK S7K 7Y4 or to The Moose Jaw Humane Society, Box 1658 Station Main, Moose Jaw, SK S6H 7K7. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Todd Sjoberg, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
