Surrounded by her loving family, Madonna (Sis) Sweeney (Curnew) in her 77th year, quietly left the world on September 23, 2015. Madonna was predeceased by her parents Arch & Sarah Curnew, husband Robert Sweeney, grandson Robert Sweeney, brothers Simon, Frank, Bill, Clayton, Lester, Nelson, Clar, and Angus. After a life full of meaning, Madonna leaves with lasting love and treasured memories her sister Yvonne; her children; Robert Sweeney (Shelia), Christine Butler (Paul), Madonna Miller (Patrick), Michelle Neary (Keith), Barb Kelloway (Larry), Nancy Emrich (John), Bernie Sweeney (Raymond), Craig Sweeney (Nicole); her beloved grandchildren; Heidi Sweeney, Matthew Sweeney (Artur), Kim Butler (Glenn), Shawn Butler (Natasha), Deanne Power (David), Krista Miller (Kevin), Sheena Miller, Keith Neary Jr., Joanne Kelloway (Adam), Tommy Kelloway (Melissa), Danielle Gorman, Kimberlyn Hawkins, Nicolas Sweeney; her great-grandchildren Ella Butler, Myah Butler, Landon Kelloway and her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family welcomes visitation at Pendergast's Funeral Home, Bell Island from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday September 25, 2015. The funeral Mass in celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Church, Bell Island followed by interment at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bell Island. Flowers are welcome, as are donations to a charity of your choice.
