Myra Jean Steeves
Myra J. Steeves, of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 24, 2015. Born in Berryton, she was the daughter of the late Botsford and Sadie (Wilson) Trites.
She was a member of Highfield Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Young At Heart Group, the Ladies Morning Out and the Sunshine Class. Myra was a loving person, known for her smile, who nurtured her family and enjoyed spending time with people, attending Hillsborough Women’s Institute (Life Member), Westmorland Horticultural Society and the Moncton African Violet Society. A very creative person, she enjoyed quilting and doing crafts, growing and arranging flower, gardening, judging at fairs, attending annual cousins reunions and family dinners. She enjoyed travelling to various locations, including Indian Shores, Florida.
Myra will be sadly missed by her children, Rex (Ruby) of Stoney Creek, Cheryl Conway (Alan), Randy and Chandra Smith (Harris), all of Hillsborough; precious grandchildren, Jared (Erica), Tarah (Lee), Jennifer, Justin (Samantha), Amanda (Jeremy); cherished great grandchildren, Bailey, Briana, Julia, Emelia, Gracin, Logan; sister, Phyllis Tower (Elmer) of Moncton; brother, Oram Trites (Etta) of Mississauga, ON; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John D. Steeves (2013); and brothers, Kenneth, Ora and Vincent.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Service to celebrate Myra’s life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel, on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Gordon Horsman officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be held at Grey’s Island Cemetery, Hillsborough.
