CLARK, MARGARET ELIZABETH
It is with deep sadness, the family of Margaret E. Clark, wife of the late Alexander W. Clark, announce her passing which occurred on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Saint John on March 31, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Rebecca (Scott) Naves.
Margaret’s career was as a bank teller and administrator for the Bank of NS, but her passion was serving her community. She was an early member of the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket and an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels – a service which she benefitted from in her later years. She enjoyed spending time at Bobby’s Hospice, providing assistance and companionship. For many years, Margaret was a strong Unitarian, before discovering a love for various Christian denominations. She was a Leader for Canadian Girls In Training through the United Church, as well as a member of the ACW for St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, and a member of the congregation for Kings Valley Wesleyan Church.
She will be missed by her children, Alistair Clark (Helen) of Belleisle Creek, Debra Clark (Bill Mascall) of Ramsgate, England, Linda Hicks (Henry) of Centreville, NS and Donna Hill (Trevor) of Woking, England; grandchildren, Jonathan and Rebecca Clark and Scott and Christopher Hicks; as well as many friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was predeceased by her sister, Kay Charlebeau.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12:00 Noon from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances made to the Kennebecasis Valley Food Basket, IWK Health Centre, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
