Henry Rudolph Lohmeyer
Passed away September 27, 2015 at Extendicare, Moose Jaw, SK. Born July 22, 1926 at Verwood, SK to Claymor and Barbara (Zirie) Lohmeyer. Predeceased by his wife Shirley, daughter Christine, siblings Marie, Bertha, William, Sophie, Margaret and father-in-law Carl Holte. Henry will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Cheryl (Gordon) and Maxine, grandchildren Rebecca (Stuart) and Colin, mother-in-law Margaret Holte, sister Florence (Ron), sister-in-law Alice Lohmeyer, numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Dad started farming on the family farm in grade 8 when his dad passed away and continued until he retired in 2011. He took a great deal of pride in his farm and always dealt with life on his own terms. Livestock was an important part of his operation, whether it was utilizing horses to run a binder, or later for pleasure. In 1959 he married Shirley Holte and they raised 3 daughters. He was an extraordinary carpenter, mechanic and welder. He enjoyed rodeos, trail rides, nature and family. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service.
