Barbara Teresa (Czuczman) Martell passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at the age of 81.
Born in Manchester, England, Barbara was a twin amongst nine children. She immigrated to London, Ont. in 1951, where she met her husband, Hugh. They married in St. Peter’s, N.S. and with their children, continued a life in the military in Europe and Canada.
Barbara was most proud of her children and devoted her life to taking care of her husband and family. She was kind, thoughtful and generous.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, Mathew and Anne, her husband, Hugh in 1998, and her siblings, Pat, Stashia, Mary, Kathleen, Peter, Bernard and Paul.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Ann, Paul (Connie), Michael and Theresa (George), her grandson, Nicolas, her brother, Gerard and nieces and nephews.
Special thanks is extended to Dr. Greg Myatt and the staff of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their attentive care, as well as Barbara’s dear friends who provided support and companionship.
Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Saturday, 11 a. m., with Rev. Everett McDow officiating.
Memorials in Barbara’s memory may be made to the CBRH Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice.
