Margaret "Greta" Biggins

BIGGINS, (nee MOFFAT), MARGARET "GRETA" CREARER
It is with immense sadness we announce the death of our mother on October 2, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 2, 1921, she was the only child of the late Robert and Jean (Patterson) Moffat. In addition to her parents, Greta was also predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Stanley.
Greta is survived by her two sons, Brian (Colette) of Grand Bay-Westfield and Robert (Debbie) of Trenton, NS; daughter, Margaret Stackhouse of Grand Bay-Westfield; seven grandchildren, Arlene (Brian) Flynn, Gillian (Mark) Miller, Lesley Biggins, Laura (Steven) King, Graham (Ann) Stackhouse, Lindsay Stackhouse-Crossman and Douglas (Tricia) Biggins; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nephew, Stephen Biggins of York, England; niece, Sheila Bradshaw of Australia; as well as three of the most special people in her life, Wilma, Eleanor (H) and Eleanor (McC).
Greta immigrated to Canada with Stan to be with her family in 1973. She was a faithful member of Westfield United Church and a life member of the UCW.
In keeping with Greta’s wishes, there will be no visitation. However relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held from Westfield United Church on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A reception will immediately follow the service at the St. Giles room. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Westfield United Church, Shriners Hospitals for Children, a charity of the donor’s choice or pay it forward with a hug or a cup of coffee or tea. www.BrenansFH.com
