Brian James Oman passed away peacefully at the age of 59 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Monday September 28, 2015. Brian was born in Swift Current July 9 1956. Brian was the youngest of 3 children born to Jim and Viola Oman. Brian grew up happy and healthy, excelling at all sports he attempted. Upon finishing school in 1974, he moved to Calgary and eventually ended up in the steel industry. He was a long time employee of Twister Pipe Ltd., and later Armtec Ltd. Brian met and married Bev Elliott in 1989 which was a stellar year for him as all his favorite sports teams won their final championships for their seasons. Brian is survived by his wife Bev Oman, children, Scott Elliott and Jessica Elliott (Shannon Robinson) grandchildren Payton and Braxson Elliott and Ella Robinson. His mother Viola Oman, sister Marilyn Huber (Dan Huber), brother Rod Oman (Sheila Oman) nieces Jamie, Chelsey, Alysse Oman. Danielle Huber and Sheri Lind (great niece Brooke Lind). He was predeceased by his dad Jim Oman on August 10 2015. Brian and Bev moved to Swift Current in 2008, Brian started working for Quality Glass where over the years he made numerous friends which he golfed and fished with. His other loves beside his wife, were his two dogs Maggy and Dixie, the Saskatchewan Rough Riders and Calgary Flames. The Memorial Service was held Friday, October 2, 2015 from the Royal Canadian Legion Hall with Brian's brother-in-law, Ian Ross leading the ceremony. The Interment Service took place at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In Brian's memory, memorial donation may be made to the Swift Current S.P.C.A. Box 1163, Swift Current, Sk. S9H 3X3.
