Aubrey George MacInnes

MacInnes, Aubrey George ( October 3, 1930 – October 4, 2015) He was born and lived a full life in Lower Onslow, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Elisabeth) Lane, children, Bob (Kim), Jo-Ann (Gary Knight), Doug (Wanda), all of Lower Onslow and Terrilyn, Georgia, USA; grandchildren, Amanda, Jonathon, Blake, Courtney, Elissa, Chayce, Sydney, Zaria, B.J. and step grandsons, Christopher and Mathew; six great grandchildren; niece, Joan (Frank) Whippie. Aubrey and Betty were very special Foster Parents to many children over the years. He was predeceased by his parents George and Ethel (Fletcher) and half brothers, Lloyd and Doug Stewart. Aubrey was employed as a mechanic for many years; semi-retired at 60 to drive a school bus for seven years. Aubrey and Betty spent many summers camping at Carrs Brook and Sand Point making friends and memories. More recent years found him laughing with friends at the Open Mic or card games. Family and friends admired him for many reasons. His devotion to “Mom”, who he lovingly visited daily, was a tribute to the life they created. There will be no visitation or service at this time. Aubrey’s wish was to be cremated and taken home till Betty joins him. Once together again there will be a family graveside service. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. On-line condolences may be made at www.colchestercommunity.com
