John Earl

EARL, JOHN FREDERICK
John Frederick Earl (December 31, 1928 to October 4, 2015) died at the DECH with his family at his side. He said he had lived a good, long life and had no regrets.

John was born in London, Ontario, went to university at age 16, completed his Master’s degree at Western University, and lived in London, England where he worked at Sterling Offices. He and Barbara, his wife, moved to Fredericton in 1959 to teach in the Economics and Political Science department at UNB. He was deeply committed to his family (his children Jack, Irene, Hilary and Sarah and granddaughters Danielle and Melissa), friends near and far, and communities in Fredericton, St. Peter’s Bay, PEI, and Progreso, Mexico. John was a man of varied interests and loved to travel. He was a prankster who held strong opinions. He was loved deeply by his family and friends who will miss him and are grateful for all the good times together.

The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff on 4SE and Drs. Anan, Keddy and Gillis-Doyle for the extraordinary care and compassion they showed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fredericton Food Bank or another local charity. There will be an informal service at McAdams Funeral Home between 2 and 4pm on Wednesday, October 21st. Words will be said at 3pm. All are welcome. www.mcadamsfh.com
