Marguerite Gormley

GORMLEY, Marguerite Joyce “Marg” -age 78 of Middleton, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Annapolis Community Health Centre, Annapolis Royal. Born in Newport, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late John Allison and Gladys Viola (Chambers) Murphy. Marg, as a new bride, left Nova Scotia for Quebec. She and Carl lived in Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before the family retired to Paradise, NS after many years with the Canadian Armed Forces. Marg worked at the Maple Grove Restaurant, Paradise and later as a Personal Care Worker at Grace Haven Home for Senior’s, Paradise. Marg loved walking, bowling and playing cards with her friends; Mary, Eva and Lola. She is survived by her son, Bruce Gormley (Gladys), Clementsport, NS; daughters, Teresa (Darald) Lewis, South Williamston, NS and Jennifer (Terry) Power, Tupperville, NS; sisters, Ruth Walker, Vernon, BC; Sylvia Murphy, Dartmouth, NS; Ruby Murphy, Alberta and Kathy (John) Foote, Cole Harbour, NS; brother, Lester Chambers, Dartmouth, NS; grandchildren, Sharon Gormley, Carl Gormley, Cassidy Lewis, Rianna Lewis, Brandon Power, and four great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Carl and son, Daniel “Danny”. Special thank you to Dr. Eric Balser, Dr. Anderson, Dr. Lori Burgess, Annapolis Valley Palliative Care, Annapolis Valley VON, Continuing Care, doctors and staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital and Annapolis Community Health Centre. In keeping with Marg’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street, (902) 825-3448 with Rev. Patty Beals officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, NS. Family flowers only.
