ANDERSON, B. Wayne - age 70, of Yarmouth, passed away on October 14, 2015 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Halifax on July 11, 1945, he was the eldest son of the late F. Bernard and Kathleen (Doyle) Anderson. While growing up in Havre Boucher, Wayne was very active in his community. He was President of the Kinsman, Deputy Governor of the Kinsman and a member of the local Fire Department. Wayne joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1965. Upon leaving the Navy in 1970 he started his career as an Electrician, which brought him to work in various mines throughout Canada. In 1996 Wayne resided in Lynn Lake, Manitoba and was President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 236, Town Councilor and a member of the Lions Club. Upon leaving Lynn Lake his journey brought him to Churchill, Manitoba where he was President and Vice President of Local 50503. During this time, Wayne made Yarmouth his home and was an active member of IBEW Local 625. He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth (Carter), Yarmouth; children, Chad (Joanne), Heatherton; Adele (Colin) Johnson, Abbotsford B.C.; stepdaughter, Lynne Ryerson, Yarmouth; grandchildren, Scotia, Rylan, Gracie and Ainsley; step-grandchildren, Oakley and Olivia Ryerson; brother, Tommy, Havre Boucher; sister, Marilyn (John) Webb, Havre Boucher. As well as nieces and nephew. Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, David and Ricky. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilsons Funeral home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth where visitation was from 7-9 pm Sunday, October 18 in the funeral home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass was held at 11 am Monday at Saint Ambrose Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiated. An interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations in Wayne's memory may be made to the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation or charity of choice.
