At the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Sunday, October 18, 2015, with his family by his side, of Alfred Harold Hackett of the Tignish Seniors Coop Home, and formerly of Sea Cow Pond age 92 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Alfreda (nee Nelligan) Harper. Born on June 12, 1923, he was the son of the late Albert and Margaret (nee Boyles) Hackett. Dear father to Marion (Ronnie) Harper of Christophers Cross; Harold of Tignish; Eddie of Tyne Valley; Joanne (Robert) McHugh of Sea Cow Pond; Wayne of Toronto; Lisa (Rick) Gaudet of Tignish. He will be sadly missed by his 8 grandchildren and by his 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Ethel Granato of Toronto; Sr. Shirley Hackett C.S.M. of Charlottetown; Albert (Norma) of Sea Cow Pond; and Carver (Joyce) of Sea Cow Pond. He was predeceased by his wife Alfreda in 2010, granddaughter Nicole in 2012 and grandson Jake in 2012. He was also predeceased by siblings Mary LeForte, Mahala Caull, Roy Hackett, Melvin Hackett, John Hackett and Marion Hackett. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Wednesday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude’s Church, Tignish, with funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Brendon Gallant celebrant.
