Robert Lyle Nelson 1925 – 2015

Born April 13, 1925 in Hilda, Alberta and died October 14, 2015 in Oliver, BC.
Lyle is survived by his wife Suzanne, his sister Ruby, his son Robert, his son and daughter by marriage, as well as 3 grandsons and their wives, and 8 great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends. Lyle was deeply loved and will be truly missed by everyone whose life he touched. 
Lyle was a WWII veteran that served Canada in the UK, Holland, and Germany. After the war he joined the RCMP for a 20 year career, retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Lyle left the RCMP to become an insurance investigator in Prince George, and eventually formed his own insurance adjustment firm in Terrace. Lyle was always involved with local service organizations, Elks, Kiwanis, RCMP Veterans assoc, and of course the Legion. Retirement allowed he and Sue to take life easy, travel, and enjoy life eventually settling in Penticton, then Oliver. Lyle did not want a service, or any fan fair. There will be a small family reunion at Aylesbury, SK where his ashes will be buried at the cemetery and many memories will be shared. We will laugh, we will cry, we will remember.
