COX, ARTHUR
Arthur Cox, 98, of Allison passed away at the Dr. George L. Dumont University Hospital on Monday, October 19, 2015. Born in Allison, he was the second son of the late Clarence and Barbara (Mollins) Cox.
He was predeceased by his wife Christena (Steeves) in 2003, brother Dr. Edwin L. Cox of Maryland, USA, sisters Kathleen Mills of Harrisville, and Martha Davison of Montreal.
He has one surviving brother, Dr. C. Donald Cox of Quebec.He will be sadly missed by his son Stuart (Lisbet) of Calgary and daughter Catherine of Allison. He will also be missed by his grandsons Ryan (Nicole), Russell, and Graham (Andrea) of Calgary, as well as one great-granddaughter.
Arthur worked for the New Brunswick Electric Power Commission for 23 years erecting steel towers and substations all around the province. One of the achievements of which he was most proud was learning to fly and getting his private pilot’s license at the age of 59. He was a member of the Allison United Baptist Church for most of his life.
He will be remembered by his neighbours for his annual lush vegetable gardens and his intelligence and practical approach to life.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
Donations in Arthur’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
