The death occurred surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at the Community Hospital, O’Leary, of Joseph J. Gallant of Forest View, O’Leary, aged 74 years. Beloved husband of Barbara Gallant, O’Leary. He was born in St. Edward on October 15, 1941, the son of the late Joseph Ben and Mary Anne (Chaisson) Gallant. Dear father to Marie, Joey (Donna), Bonnie (Glen) Harper, Barry (Tina); Darren (Shari); Darla; Davis (Kortney) and Derek (Jessica). Loving grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters Audrey (Allan) Arsenault; Edlow (Alice) Gallant; Gerard (Bernadette) Gallant; Emile (Cathy) Gallant; Julie (Abby) Avender and Johnny Gallant. He was predeceased by parents Joseph and Mary Anne, sisters Evelyn, May and 3 infants in infancy, niece and nephews J J Gallant, Paul Whalen, Frank Koughan and Lorna Gallant, mother and father-in-law Henry and Rose Gallant. Resting at the West Prince Funeral Home, 522 Thompson Road, Palmer Road, for visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Anthony’s Parish, Bloomfield, where funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Anthony’s Cemetery Fund or Palliative Care Unit of the Community Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
